Kurdish is in the Indo-European language family
This is really exciting news if you speak English, Spanish, German, Italian, Farsi, Russian, or Hindi, because all of those languages are also in the Indo-European language family, which includes about 440 languages. What does this mean?

You can use it in at least four countries
There are about 20 million native speakers, mostly in southeastern Turkey, northeastern Syria, northern Iraq, and western Iran. In its written form, there are two main dialects, Kurmanji (the northern dialect) and Sorani (the southern dialect). Of course, as in every language, there is diversity from place to place.
